Some people eat to live, while the rest of us (who are happy) live to eat. Of course, everything in moderation, but while you’re traveling, food is one of the most important parts of the experience! Whether you’re traveling domestically or internationally, there’s no shortage of amazing meals to try. Not only do you get to engage with locals and feel their energy, but you also get to taste international flavors, spices and the freshness of local meals in their original state. From homemade pasta in Italy to fresh fruit in the Caribbean and ramen in Tokyo, here are 21 foods around the world that will make you drool. Is it dinner time yet?!

Cape Town, South Africa

Aside from South Africa being an amazingly beautiful and fun place to travel, the conversion rate to the US $ is pretty insane. Right now it’s R16 (rands) to $1 (US.) So for example, 40 minute taxi/uber rides across highways end up being roughly $20. Most sit down dinners we’ve had for two people, including drinks and dessert end up being like $25-30 in total. This is a photo of our most recent meal in Cape Town, an amazing spread at a Malaysian restaurant near Bo-Kaap called Biesmiellah. SO GOOD! $20. Our most inexpensive meal was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life, fed both of us for $5. This was at Lucky Fish & Chips in the Muizenberg area. #SSxSouthAfrica #Capetown #soulfoodies
