During Sunday night’s Teen Choice Awards, celebrities joined together for a #stoptheviolence call to action. A group of teens affected by the mass shootings like Orlando, Newton, and San Bernardino took the stage to help get the message out.
Cameron Sterling, the son of Alton Sterling, joined the teens on stage to remind the world of is father. Jessica Alba and Ne-Yo shared the stage telling the audience of how Alton Sterling was killed while selling CD’s. As Alba spoke, a picture was displayed of Sterling. As she told his story, a round of applause erupted from the crowd as other teens shouted out ” I love you” and cheered for Cameron.

To bring the message full circle, Ne-Yo performed his own rendition of “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye. He asked the audience to take out their phones and take a picture of the teens using the hashtag #stoptheviolence.
