Donald Trump secured 276 electoral votes over Hillary Clinton’s 218. The outcome goes without saying. He won.
“So it’s been what they call a historic event, but to be really historic, we have to do a great job, and I promise you that I will not let you down. We will do a great job. We will do a great job,” Trump said in his victory speech in front of thousands of his supporters Tuesday night. “I look very much forward to being your president, and hopefully at the end of two years or three years or four years or maybe even eight years you will say so many of you worked so hard for us, with you. You will say that — you will say that that was something that you were — really were very proud to do and I can — thank you very much.”
A crushing defeat for Hillary supporters.

President Barack Obama congratulated Trump early Wednesday on the victory, inviting him to the White House for a discussion on the transfer of power from one administration to another. The two are expected to meet on Thursday.
In a statement, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said, “Ensuring a smooth transition of power is one of the top priorities the president identified at the beginning of the year and a meeting with the president-elect is the next step.”
Honestly, truly. How did we get here? CNN political commentator, Van Jones hit the nail on the head about the 2016 presidential election.
