On Friday Mattel launched their new Sheroes collection of dolls, which celebrates women who have inspired young girls by breaking glass ceilings. All of the recipients  were honored at the Variety Power of Women Luncheon, where their dolls were showcased to the public.

“Barbie has always represented that girls have choices, and this Spring we are proud to honor six Sheroes who through their trade and philanthropic efforts are an inspiration to girls,” Evelyn Mazzocco, general manager of Barbie, said in a press release.

 

Following the awards ceremony, each Shero will auction off their doll to benefit a charity of her choice. Who’s buying it for the Blavity collection?
