Yesterday, Black Twitter landed #GrowingUpBlack on the worldwide trending list. The hashtag evoked memories and commonalities among Black people regardless of geographic location.

As they tend to do, white trolls responded to the hashtag with their tears. Instead of watching black people celebrate their blackness and the ‘black experience,’ they felt the need to see black people’s cultural celebration as a threat to their well-being. This doesn’t necessarily make them racist, but it does show some serious unoriginality.

So it should come as no surprise that Black Twitter did what they usually do….
