The #KeepIrisBlack hashtag is full of steam, with no signs of slowing. Candice Patton has become a staple character as Iris West on The Flash, (even though she’s traditionally white in the comics). The fans love her, Barry Allen loves her, and if you start watching the show I’m sure you’ll love her, too.

With the announcement of the DCEU adding Flash to the silver screen in the not-so-far-away future, there have been rumors that the movie version of Iris West will undo the race bending and follow the comic book. Obviously, ain’t nobody got time for that.

The people have spoken.

They’ve even started fan casting.

And you gotta love this level of organization.

Let’s hope that the powers that be over at DC and Warner Bros. decide to listen to the community and #KeepIrisBlack on the big screen. It would be a great step forward for the DCEU.

What character on television right now do you think should be black or a PoC and why? Let’s talk about it in the comments. Tag a friend on Facebook that needs to see this, and make sure you use the hashtag on Twitter.
