Bruce Maxwell, catcher for the Oakland As, made headlines as the only MLB player to kneel this season. However, one Trump supporter seems to be doing protesting of their own in refusal to serve him.

Maxwell told TMZ that he wasn't even home for four hours when a waiter in his hometown in Alabama (the same place Trump made his SOB comment, shocker!) wouldn't serve him.

"He was like, 'You're the guy who took the knee? I voted for Trump and I stand for everything he stands for," Maxwell recalls.

Maxwell says it all went down at a lunch with a local African American politician, but after they complained to management, they got a new server.

"That's the reason why I'm kneeling," Maxwell says. "It's crazy to talk about it, but it's real. It really is."

Despite instances like this, a huge positive that's come from his demonstration is a new found friend and mentor in Colin Kaepernick.

"His friendship definitely helps. His guidance comes through that," Maxwell confirmed. "And just being able to use him as a sounding board some days does me some good."

Keep fighting for what you believe in. The negativity of small minded people is inevitable, but it won't take away from the bigger message at hand.
