Team USA had a pretty tough opponent Wednesday night. As the men’s basketball team took on Australia, it was clear that the Aussies weren’t going to let them get an easy win. Australia had the lead at halftime, with 54-49. In the second half when Knicks player, Carmelo Anthony, shined and showed why he was a pick for Team USA.
In his fourth Olympic game appearance, Anthony dropped nine three-pointers bringing him to 31 points scored during the game. Prior to Wednesday’s game, Lebron James held the record. This isn’t the only Olympic games milestone for Anthony. He is also second most all-time Olympic rebounder and holds the record for scoring more than 30 points in an Olympic game.
