In a post written by Representative G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) for the Grio, the Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) strongly endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. Rep. Butterfield stated,

“The black community matters, and black votes matter, which is why I publicly and proudly support Hillary Clinton for president. She has the record, foresight, and passion to improve the lives of millions of African-Americans.”

The congressmen also wrote about four distinct areas where he believed Mrs. Clinton’s policies spoke to Black voters: criminal justice reform, voting rights reforms, job creation and workplace diversity.

This endorsement adds to the mountain of endorsements already secured by Hillary Clinton. According to FiveThirtyEight this should be Mrs. Clintons 144th endorsement from a sitting representative in congress; Bernie Sanders by comparison has secured only two including Rep. Keith Ellison.
