If your Facebook news feed looks anything like mine, then you’ve noticed the takeover of viral recipe and cooking videos in the past year or so. At first, I thought, “maybe they’ll go away once people realize Pinterest is still a thing,” but alas, the onslaught of ‘No-Bake Cherry Oreo Coconut Brownie Cookies’ and ‘Crock Pot Salmon Cheerio Pasta’ videos are here to stay. I usually ignore all such videos, but Tastemade’s Baked Green Bean Fries video actually caught my eye. You have to check out this healthy, delicious recipe.

The Recipe

Check out the full recipe and instructional video at Tastemade.

Basically, you take fresh green beans, ends trimmed, and dip them in a whipped egg mixture, then dip them in a crushed Ritz cracker mixture containing Parmesan cheese and spices.

Line ’em up on a baking sheet, bake until golden, and voila! You’ve got green bean fries.

Variations on a Theme

The Tastemade recipe provides an ingredients list for a honey mustard dipping sauce. However, you can try the fries with whatever you like: For example, a ranch-dressing-based dipping sauce or even creamy sriracha sauce if you like it spicy.

You can also experiment with different green bean fry recipes. There are gluten-free and vegan options for anyone with special diet restrictions. Or create your own recipe by experimenting with your favorite cheeses and spices.
