Megalyn Echikunwoke killed as Vixen in her live action debut on CW’s Arrow earlier this year. The fans were into it. The blerd and PoC coalition on Twitter live tweeted the entire duration of the episode, rooting our girl on.

It’s exciting to see her getting a very well-deserved spotlight in this round of upfronts for the CW’s DC Comics television universe announcements about the upcoming seasons and new additions. While Megalyn’s Vixen has had a very healthy life on the CW Seed’s animated online format that currently exists, there has been enormous fan support to see a permanent move to live action in the (hopefully near) future for the heroine. Vixen would be the very first PoC lead character in this iteration of DC’s live action television relationship with the CW. The fans, as well as this amazing talent, deserve that expansion to a solo protagonist role in her own show.

We can only speculate about what the CW has in store for Megalyn Echikunwoke (a black nerd favorite forever) and Vixen. As the universe continues to develop, we are beginning to see bigger, better and more frequent crossovers than ever before. Characters making guest appearances across shows is reminding us that anyone can show up anywhere, at any time. I know that our community has fingers crossed that the big folks upstairs really start paying attention to the star power bother Echikunwoke and the character Vixen have, so we can get our very own Vixen live action fix every week on a night of their choosing.

Because if just the promise of seeing her own Arrow gets responses like this, there’s no way real deal could go wrong:

Do you think Megalyn Echikunwoke should get her own solo live action show in the DC television universe? Tell us below.
