John Stewart, without a doubt, is the Green Lantern that every blerd has been waiting to see on screen. But for some reason, it just can’t seem to happen (if it isn’t a cartoon).
This was the first Green Lantern on the silver screen.
All I have to say about that movie is Ryan Reynolds should be really glad that Deadpool worked out. Most people chalk it up to his performance, but to be honest, I think it’s only 50 percent him. The other 50 is the character – Hal Jordan. His story is just not that interesting, fam. John Stewart, on the other hand, is the man.
John Stewart is the first black character to ever appear in DC Comics.
I won’t even flex, the guys who brought John into the DC Comics universe were pretty problematic. But they got one thing straight — Hal is Charmin tissue soft and Mr. Stewart is not. The Guardians of the Universe (not the galaxy) chose John as a substitute to come in and do work. In their very first mission together, Hal Jordan was a hater, but John Stewart stopped the bad guy and sonned a racist politician all in one go.
So do we really need another vanilla Green Lantern? (pun intended)
So, why is DC asleep? Green Lantern is clearly not a star, or prominent character, in the Justice League film. And word on the street is that if he does show up, it won’t even be until part two or a separate movie franchise entirely. Didn’t they see Captain America: Civil War? It’s cool to have more than one black hero per movie now.
Even worse than that is that the Green Lantern Corps. movie has been confirmed for a tentative 2020. And yes, John Stewart is in it, but Hal is, too. Didn’t we give Hal Jordan a shot already? Let John Stewart get his solo shine like the rest of the league.
You know it’s time when the fan casts start.
😍😍😍

So, DC Entertainment, please show my guy John Stewart some love. He deserves it.
Thanks for reading Strictly 4 My Blerds. Do you want to see a John Stewart solo film, or am I tripping? Let me know in the comments (I read & reply to them) and tag a Facebook friend that needs to read this.
