Chloe Bailey experienced her first Carnival this weekend in St. Lucia with friends and Legends Carnival Band members. Bailey pulled out all the stops for her first Carnival, rocking a beautifully crafted headdress that mounted on top of her head, emulating a peacock as the orange, hot pink, and lavender-colored feathers draped around her entire costume.

Playing mas is an experience in itself, and Bailey came prepared in an all-gold chain bodysuit attached to thigh highs and a crystal bustier. She admitted on Instagram that she “had the best time of my entire life,” along with her two carousel posts.

For her second look of the day, Bailey stuck with the sultry aesthetic but opted for fewer feathers, smaller accessories, and a simple bun to keep her cool. Bailey didn’t let the heat stop her from getting close and personal with other carnival-goers like Caribbean dance instructor @_Inhalemee also known as DancewithD, including getting a lesson on the proper way to wine from Kiambu Gall, known as the “King of Carnival.”

It’s nice to see Bailey balancing having a fun social life while she’s currently touring for her first album “In Pieces.” According to Essence, Bailey was a guest on The Shop, where she revealed her childhood was filled with work, which later resulted in her acting like a “big kid” in her twenties.

“Ever since I was like 4, 5, I was in the business, and it was really all that I knew. And then I look back, and I ask myself, do I feel like I really had a childhood? And I feel like the reason I’m still, like, so bubbly is because that child inside of me never really had a true, true outlet,” she said on The Shop, Essence reported.

“So from jump, since I was a little girl, I was working. And the blessing in that is that my work was something that I actually did enjoy, and it was like, the love of it outweighs the stresses. And even now, we all go through sh-t, and we all have problems, but it’s like when your love of something outweighs that, you’ll do anything to keep it going. So that’s truly been my heartbeat through it all.”
