During their upfronts presentation Monday, Fox dropped the first trailers for their forthcoming 2019-20 series, including Not Just Me, which is from Friday Night Lights and Parenthood executive producer, Jason Katims. It is based on the Australian format, Sisters, which aired as a Netflix original.

The Brittany Snow-toplined series also stars Megalyn Echikunwoke, Emily Osment, Mo McRae, Mustafa Elzein, Timothy Hutton and Victoria Cartagena. Tamara Tunie appears to be a recurring cast member.

The official description: Not Just Me (working title) is the story of an unusual family formed through extreme odds, exploring such hot-button issues as identity, human connection and what it truly means to be a family. An only child (Snow) finds her life turned upside down when her father (Hutton) reveals that, over the course of his prize-winning career as a pioneering fertility doctor, he used his own sperm to conceive upwards of a hundred children, including two new sisters (Echikunwoke, Osment). As these three young women slowly embrace their new reality, they will attempt to form an untraditional bond as sisters, even as they must welcome a tidal wave of new siblings into their rapidly expanding family.

Fox’s upfront comes at a time when the network has received much criticism for canceling current diverse shows and passing on diverse pilots. There has been much fan outcry about the cancellation of Star, which the now-Disney-owned 20th Century Fox TV is shopping around. As for others, the Kyla Pratt pilot Patty’s Auto has been passed on but will be possibly redeveloped (which means likely recast) and there are rumblings that Universal TV could circle Fox to place the revival of New York Undercover that ABC passed on.

So, if you are in search of the state of Black talent on Fox in a post-Empire world, watch the trailer for Not Just Me below:

Also, check out the series for Fox’s other series, Deputy (which co-stars Shane Paul McGhie), neXt (which co-stars Aaron Moten), Outmatched (which co-stars Tisha Campbell-Martin), Prodigal Son (which co-stars Aurora Perrineau) and Filthy Rich (which has been hilariously dubbed Empire: Bible Edition, co-starring Steve Harris).
