Two months after being accused of domestic violence, Black Lightning showrunner Salim Akil is calling for the case against him to be dismissed.

According to Deadline, Akil filed a six-page response to Brenner’s lawsuit to L.A. Superior Court Judge Anthony that states “[The] Defendant denies, generally and specifically, each and every allegation contained in Plaintiff’s Complaint, denies that Plaintiff has sustained any injury or loss by reason of any act or omission on the part of Defendant, and denies that Plaintiff is entitled to any relief or damages whatsoever”

In addition, Akil also is asking the court to make the plaintiff, Amber Dixon Brenner pay all his legal bills. In November, Akil was hit with a huge lawsuit that accusing him of graphic domestic violence and breach of contract.

Brenner alleges that she and Akil had a “physical and sexually abusive relationship” that started in 2008.

Among the numerous graphic allegations, Brenner claims Akil slapped and strangled her. Brenner also claimed that the Black Lightning showrunner once asked her to follow him into the bathroom at a birthday party where he slapped her, forced her to perform oral sex and urinated in her mouth.

In the wake of the stunning allegations, the OWN network canceled Love Is_, a scripted drama that Akil was a producer on that was based on the relationship between him and his wife (and Love Is__ showrunner) Mara Brock Akil. While word on where Akil’s relationship with the CW is still looming, Warner Bros. did conduct an inquiry involving cast and crew to see if they had any issues working with Akil.
