A South Carolina man will have an up close and personal spot at his son’s college graduation. That’s because he’ll be sitting right beside him. Stanley Timmons and his son, Brandon Johnson both earned their undergraduate degrees from Claflin University, finishing at the same time. Timmons is 40-years-old and had not considered going to college until his son inspired him to do so.

Over the course of their time at the historically Black college, the two motivated each other to finish strong. Timmons will receive his diploma in criminal justice with Johnson’s in computer science.
