Her last episode on the Comedy Central series was Thursday, but you won’t be missing her face for long, because she is headlining her own half-hour comedy series for the network! The new series will continue to to disseminate many of the issues that Williams tackled on The Daily Show including intersectional feminism, LGBTQ topics, race and more, but done so in a way that keeps the laughs coming and still keeps you woke AF. Have you seen the lengths Williams’ has gone to to fight and address issues facing POC and LGBTQ communities?

1. She’s spoken with victims of discrimination and schooled viewers on the effects of transphobia and it’s impact in the daily lives of trans people.

2. Then she made us laugh with this breakdown of the incompetency of the Ferguson Police Department amidst the uprising following the death of Mike Brown.

3. She’s confronted the hypocrisy of the bathroom policies discriminating against trans people

4. Then she gave us this excellent skit about what it’s like to go to a pool party in Texas following the shocking video that surfaced of an assault on a child by police officers.

5. Williams’ travels to Whitesoro, NY led her to address offensive Native American symbolism right in it’s face, and even made national news.

6. Then she made us laugh as she bid adieu to the hate preachers against gay marriage as the Supreme Court voted to make same-sex marriage legal.

7. Then there was this moment when she tried to give the Republican nominees some tips on how to spice up their debates. Needless to say her last line is the best part of this whole bit.

8. She dished the real on how “Stand Your Ground” laws work for black people.

9. Williams said what women really think when they are being catcalled.

10. Don’t forget about the time she captured America’s essence.

11. This woman is just all-around #BlackGirlMagic.

As you can see, Jessica Williams is not afraid of talking about the topics we should all be talking about and calling out the folks who clearly haven’t gotten it quite right. While we wait in anticipation for her new show to premiere, we can only imagine the amazing work to come that will continue keep us rolling and enlighten the masses.
