Kelly Rowland’s search for the next big girl group, Chasing Destiny, came to a close Tuesday night with the show’s season finale. The quintet, consisting of Shyann Roberts, Kristal Lyndriette, Brienna DeVlugt, Ashly Williams and Gabby Carreiro also debuted a new song, entitled “All of Us.” Although not the group’s first single, it is the first offering from the group since their cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” went viral last month.
The group is currently working on their debut project with high-profile producers like Harmony Samules and The Stereotypes. It is described to be “an updated take of the edgy pop-oriented R&B of Destiny’s Child and SWV with the bite of Total, TLC and the short-lived Electrik Red.”
While the group still doesn’t have a name, they are scheduled to debut on ABC’s summer series, Greatest Hits, which has current acts paying homage to acts that paved the way. The group will tribute En Vogue and will be joined on the episode by fellow girl group Fifth Harmony, who will tribute none other than Destiny’s Child.
