Kevin Hart is making a Hollywood power move and entering his company Hartbeat Productions into a partnership with Lionsgate Entertainment to launch his Laugh Out Loud streaming service.
Laugh Out Loud will be the vessel carrying all of Hart’s future exclusive content off of the silver screen, and will include his live performances. More original content, with premises like the actor picking up customers as an undercover Lyft driver, will be available on the 24/7 service.
This will also be the place that he starts to really flex his producer muscles, introducing his audience to a new generation of talent from the world of stand up, influencers on social media, as well as other talent that he has picked up along the way on his journey.
In an interview, Hart said of this of his new partnership, “Lionsgate has always been a great partner of mine, and I’m more than excited to take our business and creative relationship to new levels…I understand the direction in which the television business is headed, and I see this big new space toward which audiences are starting to gravitate. I believe that launching this venture together now puts us ahead of the pack.”
Jeff Clanagan, the CEO of Codeblack Entertainment and a long time collaborator of Kevin Hart has been named president of the Laugh Out Loud streaming service and Hartbeat Digital.
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said, “Kevin is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we’re proud to kick off our partnership with a new OTT platform as well as a mobile game, extending a collaboration that began with the film ‘Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain,’…He is an incredibly versatile talent who will bring his unique comedic voice to Laugh Out Loud’s entire spectrum of original content, and his ever-expanding global fan base gives both initiatives tremendous growth potential.
