After a night of celebrating his gold medal win in Rio, Ryan Lochte reported that he and swimming teammates, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen were robbed at gunpoint by individuals posing as police officers on the morning of August 14th.

In a series of bizarre plot twists, Lochte returned to the U.S. leaving his teammates behind in Rio.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) denied his robbery claims and Rio police found no evidence to corroborate the report. Conger and Bentz were detained for questioning by Brazilian authorities and Lochte altered his story.

As inconsistencies in Lochte’s timeline of events began to surface, new evidence showed that the swimmer was engaged in a fight with a security guard on the night of the alleged robbery

Twitter came onboard to aid in the investigation.

Some questioned Lochte’s accounting of events

Others dissected his motives

Others just spoke this truth.

The epic levels of #WhitePrivilege, in a statement issued by International Olympic Committee spokesman, Mario Andrada, did not go unnoticed.

This story gets stranger by the minute but as the investigation unfolds, you can believe that we’ll be waiting to see how this foolery (or scam) pans out.
