Lupita Nyong’o isn’t here for white media attributing black hairstyles to white celebrities. In this latest offense, Vogue Magazine claimed that Lupita’s MET Gala hairstyle was inspired by Audrey Hepurn in an article titled “Is Lupita Nyong’o the new Audrey Hepburn? Celebrating the star’s MET Gala ?

Lupita quickly clapped back graciously with an informational and education video post on Instagram, in which she tagged Vogue.

Interestingly enough, on the night of the Gala, the Academy Award-winning actress did an interview with Vogue in which she told them that her hairspiration came from Nina Simone. In fact the roots of this are hairstyle are distinctively African, as displayed in the video above.
