The White House officially joined the Snapchat world Monday, perhaps as a strategic additive to the highly anticipated State of the Union address, which took place Tuesday evening.

In a blog post on WhiteHouse.gov, in addition to giving “snappers” a unique view on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, it explains that the White House Snapchat will be utilized as another tool to “meet people where they are” and allow the American people to connect to the government in a brand new way. The post also goes on to highlight the 100 million Snapchat users and the age demographic that mainly consumes information from the app.

The new account hopes to gain the attention of a younger audience and build a loyal following. And with this hat tip to DJ Khaled, they’re off to an impressive start.
