Mark Hughes, a man protesting Thursday night in Dallas was wrongly identified as a shooting suspect. He was present with his classmates and brother, a protest organizer, participating in the peaceful protest for justice. As we now know, violence took place against police officers – resulting in five deaths and six injuries.
This image was released to the public by the Dallas Police Department via Twitter.
Hughes brought an unloaded weapon to the protest to exercise his right to bear arms. His brother Cory knew better. When interviewed by KTVT he said, “Because he’s my brother and I understood the severity of the situation, I told my brother, ‘Give that gun away’.” Mark gave an officer his gun and continued marching with his friends and family.
The brother's name is Mark Hughes. Here are his classmates and his brother. HE WAS NOT THE SHOOTER.

Mark Hughes was taken in for questioning and released a short time later, cleared of any suspicion. In his own personal interview with KTVT, Hughes says that police never apologized.
