At 29 years old, Seattle Seahawks Marshawn Lynch is hanging up his cleats and calling it quits from professional football.

There have been rumblings about his departure from the game, but it still came as a shock to many in the league as well as fans. His teammates have been working on getting the running back to change his mind but, during Sunday’s Super Bowl game, proved it was to no avail.

Not sure about 2015 Jr. (I mean hello, Beyoncé) but it is a sad departure. The other retirements for this offseason are Charles Woodson, Justin Tuck and the possibility of Calvin Johnson, Julius Peppers, and Peyton Manning.

At least now, he doesn’t have to worry about being fined.
