Maya Rudolph has a Prince cover band named Princess.

Rudolph is a huge fan, and she’s been doing Prince covers with the group for years now.  Princess recently did a show at the fifth annual Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival in Austin, at the Paramount Theatre. On stage Rudolph said, “It’s gonna be hard. We’ll probably cry. He was our hero. We love him, and he’s completely shaped our world.”

During this performance, dedicated to the musical icon the band played songs like “Purple Rain,” “D.M.S.R.,” “Sister,” “Head, “Let’s Pretend We’re Married,” and “Controversy.”

A fan caught this clip of their rendition of “Purple Rain.”
