Likening the split from MSNBC to dating, Melissa Harris-Perry says as the branding of her show began to fall away, she had to make a decision about whether she’d get on the air to just read the news, or take a stand for maintaining editorial control. She chose the latter — after lack of communication — and because that didn’t fit in line with the network, she did what was best for her.
