Vice President Mike Pence had something to prove when he walked out of an NFL Game Sunday. Pence briefly attended an Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday before walking out after several San Francisco 49ers kneeled during the national anthem.

Pence defended his action by following in the footsteps of the 45 and taking to Twitter to explain himself by saying the he “will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.”

According to The Hill, Trump later tweeted that he had asked Pence to leave the game if he saw any players kneel during the anthem. Pence has been criticized for the move, with one Indianapolis sports columnist accusing him of staging a political stunt.

Leave it to Twitter to even dig up dirt on the picture he posted which was apparently three years old.

49ers safety Eric Reid similarly blasted Pence, calling him walking out a “PR stunt.”

“This is what systemic oppression looks like. A man with power comes to the game, tweets a couple of things out and leaves the game with an attempt to thwart our efforts,” Reid said.

Pence is also getting blasted for how much his little stunt affects taxpayers and his pick-and-choosy attitude about when to be outraged.

This man can't even fake it well. Just when you think this presidency can't be any more of a joke, they prove you wrong.
