American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson has the potential for a part two.

A knife allegedly found at the former estate of O.J. Simpon is undergoing forensics testing by Los Angeles police. In a press conference Friday, Capt. Andy Neiman confirmed a retired Los Angeles police officer received the knife from a construction worker who retrieved it “back in the ’90s”. Neiman said the former officer retired in the late ’90s but there is no confirmation of whether the officer was still employed with the department upon receiving the knife.

LAPD learned of the unidentified knife about a month ago.

Simpson was acquitted of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson Neiman and friend, Ronald Goldman in 1994. Police never recovered a murder weapon. Simpson was later arrested and convicted of a robbery inside of a Las Vegas hotel room. The FX original limited series, The People v. OJ Simpson is currently detailing the historic murder trial.

In 2008, Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison with the possibility of parole.
