Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time. Bassey, better known by her social media alias Hilda Baci, cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes, breaking Lata Tandon’s previous record.

According to Vanguard, Bassey turned on her burners Thursday at 4 p.m. Although she already broke the record, she has kept cooking. Her personal goal is to cook for 96 hours. Should she reach that goal, she will be the first person to spend that much time cooking in recorded history.

As of press time, Bassey is still cooking, having reached 94 hours on Monday.

Bassey’s journey has taken Nigeria by storm. An Instagram account dedicated to her record-breaking efforts shows that thousands of fans showed up to watch her do her thing. In addition, fans are showering her with gifts and praise for each milestone she surpasses.

Those not able to support the chef on the ground are doing so on social media.

“Congratulations Hilda Bacci on breaking the Guinness World Record for Longest Cooking Time,” one Twitter user wrote with multiple emojis.

“How is Hilda Bacci even dancing after cooking for over 90hrs ?? Like how?? Superhuman,” another added.

One user showed some love to Bassey’s sous chefs.

They tweeted, “Shout out to #HildaBacci ‘s support system!! Having people who believe & encourage you, especially when you don’t think you’ve got it in you to go any further; can make the difference between finishing, and finishing strong! May we all have CHEERLEADERS like Hilda !”

The Guinness World Records has yet to confirm Bassey’s accomplishment, noting the organization must review the evidence before doing so.
