The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently confirmed its zero-tolerance immigration policy, which has already torn thousands of black and brown children from their families.

"If you cross this border unlawfully, then we will prosecute you," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said when he implemented the policy in May. "It’s that simple."

The AG doubled down on that statement last week, quoting a passage from the Bible in defending ripping the children away from their parents before placing them in internment camps.

As the policy continues implementation, images of crying children and hopeless parents have flooded the media, burning themselves into the minds of the country.

Father's Day, created to celebrate and honor fathers, undoubtedly served as a sobering reminder of the fact that last weekend, many of the migrant children were without their fathers. Thanks to the Trump administration policy, not all fathers had the privilege of celebrating the cherished holiday with their children.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan (R-WI) tweeted a greeting to all fathers this past Father's Day, and John Legend wasn't here for the hypocrisy!

"My life changed the day I became a father. Liza, Charlie and Sam are my highest priority. Wishing all of the dads out there a happy early #FathersDay," Ryan tweeted.

"Seriously, f*ck you," Legend retorted. "Reunite the families at the border and we can talk about father's day."

As you may know, Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, have become Twitter's resident clapback couple. Teigen famously trolled President Donald Trump on his birthday with a statement regarding the horrible policy enforced by his administration.

"John and I are outraged to see and hear the horror stories of immigrant families seeking asylum and refuge in America being ripped apart due to the inhumane policies of the Trump administration," she tweeted on Thursday, June 14. "These actions are cruel, anti-family and go against everything we believe this country should represent."
