Rih Rih is doing it again! The Grammy-nominated singer and rising mogul has just announced a scholarship program for first-time college freshman in the Caribbean to attend school in the U.S.

The scholarship program, which is available to students living in Barbados, Jamaica, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, and Guyana is an extension of the Clara Lionel Foundation, named for the star’s grandparents. In order to be eligible, students must have already been accepted into a 4-year baccalaureate program in the United States.

“To be able to give the gift of a higher education is an honor,” the star told U.S. Today College “I am thrilled to be able to do this.”

In the video above, narrated by a primary school student from Barbados, Rihanna shares her inspiration for the Clara Lionel Foundation and her scholarship program.

Applications for the scholarship are open now through June 10th. 2016.
