Thursday at the Rio Olympics was the day of the black female athlete and the day of Simone. On the heels of Simone Biles winning the gold and officially becoming the world’s greatest gymnast, swimmer Simone Manuel tied for 1st with Canada’s Penny Oleksiak to win the gold in the 100m freestyle.
Not only did she win, Simone set AN OLYMPIC RECORD! How about that!

She was also is the first black woman to win a medal in an individual swimming competition!
Manuel gave a humble, gracious & inspiring comments after she swam.
