Thursday at the Rio Olympics was the day of the black female athlete and the day of Simone. On the heels of Simone Biles winning the gold and officially becoming the world’s greatest gymnast, swimmer Simone Manuel tied for 1st with Canada’s Penny Oleksiak to win the gold in the 100m freestyle.

Not only did she win, Simone set AN OLYMPIC RECORD! How about that!

She was also is the first black woman to win a medal in an individual swimming competition!

Manuel gave  a humble, gracious & inspiring comments after she swam.

“All I can say is all glory to God. I’m so blessed,” she said.

Twitter exploded for her! We were all so incredibly proud.

This is #BlackGirlMagic at it finest. Simone Manuel is literal goals. Between her and Simone B. & Gabby, this is overload (but not really)! Congratulations!
