There are few things in life that are simultaneously over the top fun, educational, self-developing and community-building. But travel is one of those things. Travel leaves you with a better understanding of the world, people and your purpose in life. And if you do it right, you feel more rich from it. Since starting our black travel platform Soul Society 101 in 2012, we have seen some of the most inspiring and jaw-dropping pictures of people who look just like me and you, globetrotting this beautiful earth on literally every continent and in every country, city and town you can think of. What’s even more inspiring is when you see a group of individuals who somehow manage to defeat the odds (financial and time constraints, flaky people, friends that just aren’t on your travel level) and plan a squad trip to a far-off destination. Most of you know it’s hard enough to plan a group outing to brunch or boozy day party, let alone coordinating airfare, hotels and itineraries. Nonetheless, we’ve seen it done and done well. 🔺 @missesrashida #Mexico 🔸 #soultravel ・・・ ….Did I mention that to get 24 women out of 26 (2 are preggo and Zika is real!) to leave their jobs, professional schools, and families for an international trip was no joke. Let me emphasize not what it means to be a Delta, but what it means to have a sisterhood in Delta. Yes, there is a difference. See we have been there for graduations(not just undergrad BUT post grad degrees, over 50 degrees total) ,for the birth of kids(we have 11 kids on our line), weddings( 10 weddings and 1 recent engagement). We know that it can seem obnoxious to boast of this bond, but there is nothing that compares to what this group of women share. WE have strived for Delta, True Sisterhood and a bond that will last a lifetime. Did I mention we are dentists, veterinarians, doctors, engineers, principals, public health administrators, physician assistants,nurses, pharmacists, and 4 attorneys!!! In the words of the Queen, “We know we that ish when we cause all this conversation, so we stay gracious and keep countin this paper🐝🐝”
