The duo behind the running man challenge got their chance to be on the Ellen Show. Kevin Vincent and Jeremiah Hall, two high school students, were sitting in finance class one day and made a video doing the running man to Ghost Down DJ’s 1995 hit “My Boo.” From there the video landed into the hands of University Of Maryland basketball players Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley. The two Terps players took the video to new levels helping the running man challenge to go viral. Many thought that Nickens and Brantley were the creators of the challenge, forcing the high schoolers to make another video asking people to recognize them and to be guests on the Ellen Show. Ellen not only honored their request but presented them with $10,000 dollars for college.
She also brought along the UMD players, but due to NCAA rules couldn’t give them more than their own personalized Ellen underwear.
