If you haven’t already heard of the Black Love Festival, let us catch you up to speed.

The Black Love Festival is organized by China Pharr, Leigh Davenport and Etecia Brown. It happens on July 18 (just over a week from now) from noon to 6:30 p.m. in San Francisco. Its purpose is to serve as an example of love being used as a tool to organize, build bridges, provide resources and highlight safe and healthy spaces for and by black people.

Supporting black love and success in a region like San Francisco is important when it comes to connecting with the local black community.

Oh yeah — did we mention the festival is free? It’s a grassroots event led by volunteers, meaning all of these great features come at no cost to you. So to combat those days of exhaustion from social activism and standing up for what’s right, come refuel with a healthy dose of black love.
