The first issue of the Ta-Nehisi Coates, Brian Stelfreeze dynamic Black Panther team up hit comic book stores and digital retailers today and it’s been an Internet blerd block party all over the timeline ever since.

The hype was worth it. Black Panther #1 came through in a big way, and the wave of excitement has reached an all time high as the black nerd community, plus some new faces tip toeing over to blerd Twitter to see what all the fuss is about and get in on the action.

Black Panther Day is in full effect

Black Girl Nerds came through to get folks in formation to spend these coins

And then came the cover shots, because pics or it didn’t happen

We even got some folks to jump on the train and see what that comics life is about (or come back to the light from the dark side)

And you can never go wrong with some commemoratory art

Plus, A Nation Under Our Feet might have more quotables than a Drake album

There’s no way that I couldn’t jump into the action, since I read my copy of Black Panther #1 early this morning.

Marvel, I hope you’re ready to cut the check for a second run, because it looks like this one’s already a hit. Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze really over-delivered on this one. If you’re on the outside looking in, it’s not too late, go pick up your copy of Black Panther #1 at your local comic book shop or head over to comixology.com for a digital copy.
