Fox has found an unexpected hit with Empire, and we’ve all watched as its ratings have grown every week. Whether we’re rolling our eyes at Hakeem, cursing Lucious in between clenched teeth, or (of course) cheering loudly for all things Cookie, Empire looks like it will be a staple on Wednesday nights for years to come. Not to be overlooked in all of the high drama, though, is the music. Rarely has a show based on the music industry had such incredible music to go along with it. With the two-hour season finale coming up this week, here are five songs that jam so hard, they transcend the show and groove their way into our daily lives.

5.) “Keep It Movin”, performed by Teyana and Hakeem during the episode “False Imposition”

Teyana’s character had a pretty short story arc. But during it, she cranked out a few fantastic songs, none better than this one. It’s too bad she’s gone. She really bought out the best in Hakeem.

4.) “Money For Nothing”, performed by Jamal and Hakeem during the episode “Our Dancing Days”

The Lyon brothers teamed up on this one to flex their combined powers over a unique sample of the 1980’s Dire Straits hit of the same name.

3.) “Drip Drop”, performed by Hakeem and Teyana during the episode “Dangerous Bonds”

The hook is catchy enough to ignore some of the cliched lyrics, the beat sounds like it would be at home on any other rapper’s major summer hit, and you can definitely play this at the next house party you have.

2.) “Adios”, performed by Teyana during the episode “The Outspoken King”

A song that borrows musically from the best sounds of Beyonce and borrows vocally from the best swagger of Rihanna, this one was the highlight of Teyana’s tenure with Empire Records.

1.) “You’re So Beautiful”, performed (most famously) by Jamal during the episode “The Lyon’s Roar”

And how could anything else stand at #1? Jamal used an updated version of his father’s song to publicly come out to the entire world, much to his father’s dismay and much to the delight of many viewers. But even beyond that, the song’s infectious chorus puts its danceability at an all-time high. Don’t be surprised if this becomes a hit far beyond the show.
