Singer The Weeknd and rapper Belly were supposed to appear on Wednesday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, but pulled out so they wouldn’t share screen time with Donald Trump.

They were scheduled to perform Belly’s latest single, “Might Not” on which The Weeknd is featured.

In a statement to the Associated Press, Belly said he didn’t want to feel like he was part of a “celebration” for someone who has beliefs which differ from the majority of the world.

“For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here. To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all,” he said.

Belly’s new mixtape “Another day in Paradise” drops on Friday.

The Weeknd or Jimmy Kimmel have yet to comment on the matter.
