106 years old Virginia McLaurin started a social media campaign in 2014 with her intentions set on one goal, meet the first Black president of the United States. In her video she shares how she never thought she’d “live to see a colored president.” She continues to say, “I am so happy. I pray for you every day of my life.

McLaurin, who was born in 1909 in South Carolina and moved to Washington D.C. in the 1940s, has lived through 18 sitting presidents, but had never visited the White House. That is until Black History Month 2016, when she got to meet the first black president and first lady. She even got to shake a tailfeather with them too!
