Eleven million documents were leaked that reveal where the world’s rich and powerful have been stacking up their money. Thanks to an unknown source, the world is learning that Mossack Fonseca, a Panama-based company, has been laundering money for their clients and assisting in their tax-evasions so that their wealth accumulates, sanction-free.

The leak exposes and implicates hundreds of billionaires, athletes, and politicians through four decades worth of documents that show how they’ve hidden their wealth. The head of the company, Ramon Fonseca denies any wrongdoing and says this hacking into his firm’s database should be cause for international privacy concerns. Whether or not this digression sticks, the international community is pissed and rocked by this secret economy of unethical proportions.
It’s unethical and immoral, but that only matters if you value ethics and morality In the first place. #panamapapers

Hopefully #panamapapers will somewhat level the playing field… Will the govt take up the gauntlet considering the names involved?

And noting that it’s damn good journalism
I’m looking forward to five years from now, seeing what impact the #PanamaPapers has on both journalism and society as a whole.
