According to TMZ, actor Thomas Mikal Ford, most known for the role he of Tommy on the hit 90s television series, Martin, is dead at 52.
Earlier today, reports spread of his death after Anthony Anderson tweeted it. However, these reports were said to be false at the time. Ford was in the hospital after a check-up for his recent knee replacement, due to an aneurysm during post-op. His family made the decision to turn off life support.
Ford played Martin (Martin Lawrence)’s best friend and Pam’s (Tichina Arnold) significant other Tommy Strawn for all five seasons of the show.
Tommy was a popular character, and a running gag throughout the series was that Tommy didn’t have a job. Earlier this year, Tisha-Campbell Martin (Gina) revealed what Tommy’s real job. Ford’s other credits include New York Undercover, The Parkers and Who’s Got Jokes.
