Tiffany Haddish announced that she will be hosting the MTV Movie and TV Awards on June 18.

The Girls Trip star will be the first black woman to ever host the awards show in its 25-year history. She is also the first female host since Amy Schumer served as emcee in 2015. Haddish shared the news via her Instagram page.

“That’s gonna be off the chain,” Haddish exclaimed in the video. “You know why?! I’m hosting. And you know what that means: it’s gonna be hilarious.”

MTV released a press release confirming the information, saying Haddish is “quickly establishing herself as one of the most sought-after actresses and comedic talents in television and film.”

Haddish has had a banner year and shows no signs of slowing down.

This announcement comes a day after she met her idol, Oprah Winfrey, on the Ellen Show.

Additionally, she is the new face of Groupon and appeared in their Super Bowl ad. Her book, The Last Black Unicorn, is a New York Times bestseller. Haddish is also starring in the upcoming TBS sitcom “The Last O.G.” with Tracy Morgan.
