Tyler James Williams held his own portraying the poster child for a series of unfortunate events in Everybody Hates Chris. Beginning his early entertainment career at the tender age of four, Williams has flexed his talent range and maturity with roles on “The Walking Dead”, “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders”, and “Dear White People”.
Now, he’s showcasing his acting skills in a modern series titled “RePlay”. The show which debuted on April 20th on go90, Verizon’s premiere entertainment app for Millennials, is slightly out of Williams’ traditional realm of TV.
“I actually liked it. It still releases 12 episodes like a regular show, but we shot it like a movie which is nice,” Williams said to The Huffington Post. “We got all the scripts up front, which for a regular show you don’t. You typically get them week to week. So as far as building a character or understanding where the script is going, it’s not the same. So I actually prefer to have all the information up front. So it was nice.”
The 23-year-old stars as Nate, best friend to the main character Allison, an aspiring DJ who continuously relives her birthday after a wish doesn’t go exactly as planned. Williams serves as the voice of reason and quintessential bff you need when sh*t just doesn’t go your way.
