Vivica A. Fox has been cast in an upcoming science-fiction flick…and she’s going to play the President!

Crossbreed, as The Hollywood Reporter reports, is about a group of “retired military war heroes who are sent to retrieve an extraterrestrial being from an illegal Medical Facility using its DNA to manufacture weapons.”

It looks like this will be the first time that a black woman will play POTUS in a major motion picture film. There may indeed be other instances where Black women are playing POTUS, but nothing has been done quite on this scale.

The film is described as a callback to the action films of the 1980’s, and it will also star Gotham‘s Stink Fisher, Devanny Pinn, Vernon Wells and John T. Woods.

“When my producers brought up the idea of Vivica in the role,” explains Brandon Slagle, the film’s director, “it was a lightning bolt. It was a fantastic idea. Someone who could light up a room but also has a commanding presence. Our President is positive and proactive, not the grim figure as is usually portrayed in these types of movies.”

This is something that we are going to have to see. You go Vivica!
