After a woman who goes by the name Sister Toldjah on Twitter, released an article criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement’s lack of response to the murder of six-year old, King Carter, many were up in arms, citing her point of view as racist and uninformed. Although the criminals charged with the crime had already been captured, Toldjah harped on about the tragic death of Carter being ignored because of the black on black crime violence in the case. The anti-BLM sentiments proved to rile up the black twitter community in anger but, ultimately erupted in a hilarious comeback hashtag that continues the ingenious nature of #BlackTwitter moments.

What ensued was another case of clapbacktivism at it’s best in which the satirical #WhereWasBLM hashtag started by @RodimusPrime, invited many to point out the absurdity in Rachel Dolezal cousin’s idea that the Black Lives Matter movement doesn’t care and/or doesn’t do the work to address all the issues that make up the lives within the movement itself.

1. When #BLM didn’t show up and protest the attempted murder of Mister at the hands of Mrs. Celie

2. When #BLM ignored Aunt Viv’s protest of lack of foundation shades which ultimately led to her being replaced with an actress whose skin tone could better fit the make-up department budget

3. When #BLM denied the surge of unemployment in the black community

4. When #BLM ignored Jermaine Jackson’s roots and lack of black-owned businesses in the hair care industry

5. When #BLM didn’t protest this cartoon and it’s transracial propaganda

6. When #BLM depended on Mr.Clark to fix all the issues of the school-to-prison pipeline plaguing black youth and did none of the work themselves

7. When #BLM didn’t address the instance of black gatherings being shut down due to violence in public spaces

8. When #BLM ignored the mental health crisis in the black community and it’s damaging effects

9. When #BLM disregarded the most publicized black on black crime in cinematic history

10. When #BLM never stood in solidarity with communities who are not able-bodied

11. When #BLM didn’t say her name too

12. When #BLM ignored the problem of illiteracy among black people

13. When #BLM turned the other cheek at the increase of obesity in black youth and other health crises in the black community

14. When #BLM did nothing to address the attacks and lack of inclusion of the LGBT community

15. When #BLM did not protest the propaganda fueled against black women and the blame being placed upon them in the destruction of the black family

16. When #BLM dismissed the video footage revealing the murder of Ricky Baker at the hands of gang violence

17. When #BLM had nothing to say about the black feminist struggle within the movement

Despite the laughs that ensued following the backlash from Sister ToldMeNot’s, fallacious article, it proves how easily people are quick to assume or judge before doing their own well-rounded research about all of the work being done within the movement.

In the case that this woman tries to take a stance about anything that is anti-BLM ever again she could start here for some insight.
