White Savior Barbie parodies white people who volunteer in Africa

The White Savior Complex has taken over our beloved Barbie community. Barbie Savior is using Instagram to relentlessly throw shade at the pictures that many white people take when they volunteer in developing countries.

Run by two ‘reformed’ twenty-something white women who realized the error of their ways, the new Instagram account has more than 10,000 followers and it gets real. Savior Barbie leaves no stone un-turned:

She claims that she knows African culture (because she’s seen it on TV).

I learned so much about Africa from pop culture before ever setting foot on this precious country’s beautiful, red soil. One of the most influential films, obviously, was The Lion King. “Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance.
