As I reported last week when the nominations were officially
revealed (HERE), the Chicago Film Critic
Association Awards were announced tonight
and 12 Years A Slave won five awards
including Best Picture.

Among the other awards announced, Steve McQueen was honored with the Best Director Award, Chiwetel
Ejiofor
for Best Actor, Lupita Nyong’o for Best
Supporting actress
and John Ridley
for Best Adapted Screenplay.

For the record, Cate
Blanchett
was awarded Best Actress for her role in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, Jared Leto won Best Supporting
Actor
for his turn in Dallas Buyers
Club
and Spike Jonze for Best Original Screenplay for Her.
