Teyana Taylor won season seven of The Masked Singer, according to Pitchfork. The R&B singer was a judge and fan favorite throughout the season, performing stunning renditions of songs including “Ain’t Nobody,” “Attention” and “Bad Girl.”
Taylor was revealed as the firefly and snagged the golden mask trophy on Wednesday, beating Cheyenne Jackson and Hayley Orrantia for the title. It was Taylor’s sensual rendition of The Masked Singer judge Robin Thicke’s “Lost Without U” that brought the house down and ultimately secured her win.
After Taylor was awarded the golden mask trophy, viewers on social media praised her achievement and mentioned her husband, Iman Shumpert, who won Dancing with the Stars.

To fans’ dismay, the R&B singer said was retiring from music in 2020, People reports. She said that her then-label Def Jam was “reciprocating 10%” of the “110%” she was putting into her career, adding that she asked them to drop her because “I can’t let this kill me.”
“I constantly feel alone. I constantly feel unappreciated. I constantly feel failed,” she said, according to People. “There’s literally no push.”
Taylor, however, decided to do the show to experience performing without the world judging her.
“I was like, this would be something really nice to do to just be able to just sing and be fun again and it’s just like no judgment,” she said.
