In honor of Black History Month, Diane Nash and Bree Newsome sat down to discuss past and present forms of civil rights activism.

Diane Nash was a Civil Rights Movement activist in the 1960s. The campaigns she led were among the era's most successful. Bree Newsome is most noted for her removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina statehouse grounds in 2015. She was arrested for civil disobedience; however, the publicity put pressure on state officials to remove the flag, which was taken down in July of 2015.

In an A&E History video, the two women discussed their experiences in the movement.

These two women will go down in black history each in her own right. Having the two ladies sitting face to face is a reminder of how far we've come, and how far we must go.
